TAVIA GARITANO GALLERY Tavia Garitano is originally from the Bay Area, but spent much of her childhood in Washington state. Having grown up with artist parents and siblings, creativity and art have always been an important part of her life. With interest in fashion and design, after high school, Tavia discovered a love for making and designing jewelry. She began working in the industry with various Bay Area jewelry designers where hands on experience became her school, and has shaped the Artisan she is today. In 2002 Tavia followed in the footsteps of two generations before her, when she began working on the docks just as her grandfather and father had. Being a Longshoreman at the Ports of San Francisco/Oakland, with its unique beauty and breathtaking views, has inspired Tavia to pursue her other passion, Photography. She has combined her original photographs with her own artistic spin.
